7 fully integrated PodRunner® Command-RunnersⓇ custom built for Cooper University Hospital’s Southern Regional MCC to operate as independent communications hubs for emergency response.
When Hurricane Sandy blew through New Jersey in October of 2012, it's destructive winds and floods knocked out both power and communication systems. A significant number of cell and radio towers were either damaged or without transmission power leaving emergency responders without the ability to communicate with dispatch, hospitals, and outside assisting agencies. As a result, HAM radios with volunteer operators have been integrated into the emergency management plan.
These PodRunner® Command-RunnersⓇ are designed to custom specifications with the ability to operate independently of the power grid allowing HAM radio operators to strategically communicate between each other, the hospitals and external agencies.
The PodRunner® Command-RunnerⓇ alleviated the need for expensive/bulky communications trailers which would have difficulty navigating debris covered or flooded roads and allows operators to set up communications indoors away from the elements.

Features:
Power Options - Shore (wall) power, generator and on board AGM battery. Power control module contains inverter and DC battery conditioning controls. Multiple power outlets including 120 VAC, 12 volt DC and USB for powering/charging various devices.
Communication Systems - Mix of duel band, HF and UHF radios and hand-helds capable of voice and data transmission. Built in antennas and RIGrunner 4005 with Anderson Powerpole connectors.
Lighting - Three LED lights are built into the lid. Three adjustable, retractable LED task lights are also installed into the rack.
Lid Tie Downs - Adjustable tie down tracks and rings for storage and transport of a pop-up shelter and camp chairs.
Graphics - Custom graphics were designed and applied in outdoor grade vinyl to represent the organizations.
Accessories - These units also contain on board wi-fi, 2 laptop computers, drawers and cabinets for storage, white board mounted to the interior lid and 3/8" plexiglass desk cover.
